Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2014 If rods had names this one would be "Showtime". Although I will be selling it this is not built for a specific customer. basically I have just been wanting to do somewhat of a rod to showcase what I can do on rods so built this one up in extreme excess with just about every trick that can be done to a fly rod for no other reason than because ...well, why not lol Blank is a blue 10ft 3wt 4pc IM6 graphite mod/fast action. The reel seat hardware is nickle silver, the wood reel seat is i piece of lacewood coated in threadmaster. The grip is all brown burl, dark mix, rubberized, wave cork, and blue craft foam which then has 11 coats of urethane sanded and buffed between each coat to give it a mile deep finish. The winding check has an epoxy ramp to smoothly transition the grip to the blank itself. The wraps are metallic blue with metallic silver trim as well as black wraps and single turns of metallic silver trim as well. The stripper and the first running guide are both under wrapped with black thread extended out in front and some more dress up wraps to add some added eye candy. Guides are SF Minimas. If your a subtle style guy you won't like this one, but if your a fan of excess then you'll love this rod
mikechell 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2014 I know this is a disgusting mental picture ... but that rod is as close to pornography as rod building can get. I am not talking about amateur hour it the local strip club either. I am talking centerfold of the century in Play-Fly-Angler-Boy. SO MUCH BLUE, I gotta use the same face I did on the grip thread. FlaFly 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2014 That's gorgeous!!!! and I don't think it's overly flashy. I'd like to have that one even if I don't really need it. I could just sit and look at it!

Troutbum11 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2014 Awesome....whats the price gonna be on that work of art?
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2014 Probably $145. I know that's very underpriced for the amount of work and quality of it but gonna price it to move because I've got rods piling up in the racks that need new homes so last thing I need is another sitting here for very long
