WVUontheFLY 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2015 Here are a few from this last week or so. A couple deer hair sliders tied on a size 1, deer hair sliders on a size 8 b10s, and a few deer hair bugs on an umpqua competition special 3/0. I can't wait to get my fugly packer to help make my big bugs more dense. Also I need to learn how to better stack. No matter what I do, the hair still makes 2 revolutions or so around the hook

vjc 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2015 vjc, Nice softies! For some reason, I'm always drawn to them. These ought to catch very well. The WB's look good, but I just never was interested in fishing with them. I've tied a few, and even fished them, but never had much luck. Kirk Thanks. I'm partial to the softies too, simple, elegant and fairly easy to tie. I think I tend to put on too much hackle. WBs work well for steelhead and are easy to tie. They are a local favorite. I make a lot of variations but white, black, brown and olive simply tied seem to work best.
