Noahguide 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2017 Bikini, like your flies. I like your damsel fly a lot. Been paying close attention to them in my back yard this summer and I like the proportions. Recipe?

Bimini15 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2017 Thanks! The hook is a generic terrestrial, size 6. The tail is a furled piece of peacock colored diamond braid. The wings is a bit of congo hair The body is a couple of rubber legs wrapped around the wings and forward to the eye. Curious to try it myself. Just made it up on the fly. Thanks, I'll have to work on it, but tried this one in red to match some of the local species hanging out at one of the bass spots..

SBPatt 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2017 Uffe's Killer Neat variation of a Hatchmaster, with the parachute hackle under the body. Woodduck definitely worked better for me than mallard. Here's the SBS hook Dai Riki 125 #12 thread/rib - UTC 70 grey brown tail/abdomen/head - woodduck flank wing - Congo Hair white hackle - rusty dun Tried brushing the feather with Sally with poor results. Searched the house for vinyl cement; remembered doing some plumbing repairs last week and the proverbial lightbulb went off Stuff worked great, ventilation is key; luckily, I stepped out of the gene pool years ago.
