What's a "vocal fry"? Chewing with your mouth open? Never heard of that before. It bugs me too. Do they do it while they are tying flies? That would be bad.

Vocal fry are baby fish that talk. I have trouble understanding them.

If a fish chews your fly with it's mouth open the chances of hookup are greatly diminished. Truly an abhorrent behavior in fish.

Thanks Norm, can you imagine if some one chewed with their mouth open while they engaged in vocal fry. Eww. My wife hates that vocal fry stuff with a passion.
