If I had to chose just ONE thing on this entire site that ALWAYS makes me go "AAAAHHHH", it would be these pictures of the scuds you tie, Kimo.  If I fished anything that small, I'd be knocking on your front door ...

I must admit that feathers (and I mostly use relatively inexpensive strung saddles and neck hackles)are getting harder to find these days.... Almost all of them comes from Chinese or other oriental chickens.  Lucky for me that I’ve been buying and hanging on to them since the early eighties... 

I always ask for wide, webby full strung stuff - and a bit bigger than I actually need... It was quite moment years ago when I realized that almost any cheap feather duster had better neck hackles to make tarpon flies with than almost any high end genetic stuff...

Most if the feathers I prefer would be rejected by skilled freshwater tyers
