gillage 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2021 2 minutes ago, DFoster said: That's a great looking pattern- I was recently given several packs of 1990's(?) rubber legs from a friend who never quite develop as a tier. I think I'll tie a couple in that style. They might be "trout getters" around here in the summer! This is really a "Gill" getter, tied some last year and it was "lights out" on the water. Tying a few more for this year and for some friend's boxes. Simple but effective.

niveker 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2021 Dang, some nice ties the past few days, @DFoster, that emerger is a beaut! Dirty Lil' Dorothy, variant of the original by Mark Libertone Hook: #12, GCO Thread: Orange silk, size A Thorax: Pale Yellow Rabbit Dubbing Hackle: Pale Ginger hen (hence the 'Dirty", a tad darker than the original) Thorax should start sooner and be a tad thicker at the throat, me thinks. niveker 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2021 Very kind of you, Kim, thanks. I find myself gravitating toward this style of wet fly/flymph of late, and as I do, I come across his ties more and more. I'm thankful to those who keep his online legacy alive.
