Similar in use, but Swiss straw in a natural material I believe. I want to do a side by side caparison.

Muddled Hippocrates Flee

51822425051_d18370a106_c.jpg

hook - WFC Model 6 #10
thread - Uni 8/0 fire orange
tail - yarn Sunburst
rib - small wire gold

body hackle - dyed neon orange (70% Rit Golden Yellow, 30% Rit Sunshine Orange/1 cup water)
shoulder - chukar dyed orange (1 Tbs Rit Sunshine Orange/1 cup water)
collar/head - deer hair dyed orange

Wasn’t happy with how my attempts at the original turned out; kinda static

51823145280_d7332f24d6_c.jpg

so I added some moving parts to it; shoulder on the Muddler is probably a bit long but I didn’t have any other orange chukar left.

Scott

That peacock herl is a great addition to the normal yellow & partridge.  Good contrast, a little sparkle, natural material, the perfect size (better than a dubbing ball).

How does it fish? I've become obsessed with tying soft hackles since burning out on euro nymphs and then tearing my hamstring.  I figure the soft hackles will help with the (big quantity) of water where euro-nymphing is difficult.
