Awfully quiet around here

Recommended Posts

Hopefully everyone is too busy fishing, but with this group I suspect more illicit activities

Here are a few of the latest I have done between shifts at Chippendales

A variation of the big ugly with swamp rat instead of craft fur

various baitfish

A mixed media, looks like it should work on reds but who knows. I think it is originally for smallmouth

Love the look of the feather cheek on that third one! All look like killers though!

I'd read, in the latest GQ magazine, the Chippendales had a new "fluffer" ... didn't realize it was you.

I agree with Fisherboy ... that cheek feather looks great. Reminds me of when you were working with the Indian from the Village People.

Those are definitely some fish catching flies, though.

Good stuff, Andy; I especially like the squiggly-wiggly little guy. I imagine just about anything would eat that one.

I think most of the crew's been out fishing. I've been busy playing a lot of poker tournaments, and I've been tearing up the felt, as they say. Funny how both my favorite pastimes involve fooling the fish.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Mike, the job is hard work and you do have to get your hands dirty, but it came with a great benefits package. Actually it was experience with the Village People that landed me this job.

PJ, will we be seeing you on ESPN wearing a hoodie and shades soon? Actually, I think your usual attire would work great at keeping the other players distracted and off their guard

We jumped five tarpon today - but none on fly... The highlight today was an 11 year old boy hooked up on a 30 to 40lb tarp on the lightest rod on the boat (a bonefish spinner, with only 10lb braid). That fish ran him ragged for about 40 minutes before finally finding a spot along the river bank to break off on...

In the meantime I'm working on a small order of flies for a Belize trip one of my anglers going on... It may be a bit quiet in this corner but I'm still going flat out..... We ended up in rain for the afternoon (running nearly 30 miles in it..). we looked like we'd swam back to the ramp.... Hopefully no rain tomorrow - but even if there is, I'll be out in it.

Capt Bob, Probably safe to say that youngster is hooked for life. For that Belize order, will those be flies for the flats or deeper river stuff? If the latter, I'd love to see what you tie up.

I had to re-read the thread to review these fine ties. The talk about the "fluffer" and then PeterJay's comment "squiggly wiggly little guy" cause my mind to wander off the original subject. :D

Andy, I don't play in casinos any more - the "live" game is way too slow for my taste, and I don't like tipping surly dealers. Besides, I can play online while farting incessantly, wearing my thong, and spitting tobacco juice, behavior which has gotten me banned from a number of persnickety card rooms. I'm actually entered in a bunch of World Series of Poker qualifying events, but if I win a seat, I'll take the cash option instead. The last thing I need is Nevada in July, and the last thing my enemies need is a fix on my location. ESPN is just gonna have to do without the ratings bonanza my appearance would provide.

Lost a ton of flys to big blues and now the 6 to 8 pounders are chewing em up. Bass are off shore on bunker the yak doesn't do well in a crowd of boaters.

Mud... this order is for river fish and it's mostly Tarpon Snakes in two colors, the standard all black and fl.

green/white... Each pattern is in two sizes -the standard big 4/0 and in 2/0.... Here's a pic or two.

Thanks Capt. I don't recall seeing the green and white version until now but those black ones are definitely in my box.
