Craft foam can color identical to pellet and it's cheap. Cut to size. Hell chum them up and pull the fly into their mouth.

I feed the catfish in my ponds floating dog food pellets. Craft foam dog pellet flies work well. However if I spun deer hair like you I'd probably try that route too.

It's a hard job. You have big expectations to fill. The guide is paying for license, boat, marina fee, bait, equipment, gas, insurance, etc. You just come and catch fish then go home or to the motel. I've been guided a lot and have always tipped. 50 to 100 generally. 50 being half day and 100 full. If I had a really enjoyable day more. I have become friends with some and keep touch over the years. I've never really known any guides that were making a killing so to speak. Anyway, I just imagine myself doing their job and try to pay what I think it would be worth.

I hate a thief! My parents bought me a truck as a gift when I graduated college. First person on moms side of the family to do so. First month of law school and some asshole stole it. I hope he is rotting in hell and that every time he goes for a drink of water someone steals it from him.

I have the long scissors and find them very nice. I'm interested in the magic clip. Anyone have one? Like it? What about his other tools? I know there is expense involved but I don't mind paying for items that are of good quality and function within reason of course.

Vic Makes "scents" to me. I would have no problems scenting flies. If pouring powerbait on the fly helped me I'd do it. I'm much better with a bait casting or spinning rod so a fly rod is disadvantage enough for me.

Adam Wicked cool fly. It would work here for largemouth bass.

Steve Do you mind elaborating on the specialized purpose of this rod? It's unique.

I like it Steve although I don't like nymphing but I bet it could bomb some long casts for panfish on top. Like Mike, I'd bling it out!! Pirates, krakens, and maybe a lightning bolt or two!

Yeah I've fished down their numerous times already but i concentrated more on fun than learning. I'll try again with the learning aspect in mind.
