  1. I'm not big on spending money on a vice. But my rotary vise cost about $70. Tier McFlier Ireland True Rotary Vice. I'm very happy with it. If I was to buy on today.. I would go with the Griffin Odyssey Spider or the Griffin Blackfoot Mongoose. Its all in what you want to spend. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fly-Tying-Vise-C-Clamp-Tier-McFlier-Ireland-True-Rotary-Vice-tool-for-tying-fly/252723145615?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D45561%26meid%3D01af834bea6940b393294610275bfdcb%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dag%26sd%3D252792822999&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  2. I use this storage box I got at Lowes. Holds all my hooks and so much other stuff.
  3. Bluegill love flip flops. Easy to make and fun to catch.
  4. I switched my desk lamp to a LED bulb. What a difference it made for me.
  5. I was punching in different states and location. It seems all the ones I checked had the epoxy. But if your Lowes don't. You can order it and ships to store for free. This is what I buy. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Devcon-Clear-Epoxy-Adhesive/4006643 Sorry your looking for 30 min.
  6. I finally decided to try and paint some poppers with an airbrush. After reading a post on airbrushing with sharpies, I looked into how much would it really cost for an airbrush? So I ordered a cheap China airbrush kit off ebay. I have the compressor, so my cost is very low. I'm painting foam poppers, so I don't need an expensive set up. When all said and done. I might have $40 with the paint invested. I look for deals, And this kit gave you everything but the compressor. As I was reading up on-line the how to guides on airbrushing a popper. I found this old post. I wont need this big of a setup, but the info is good.
  7. I cant change the reading view. but really? You don't like the wood? Over priced, yes. But cool looking.
  8. https://www.facebook.com/morsatifer/ It came up today and I don't really need one. I only read English? But it does look nice with the wood.
  9. I saw this today. I cant belive he doesnt bleed. His arm had to hurt the next day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgfpsupmu98
  10. I buy all my fly tying stuff from China or Hong Kong off EBay. As I'm sure that's where these ones are made and bought, Then sold for more. If you want a great price and don't mind waiting 3 weeks to get. 99 cents for 100. Free shipping. http://www.ebay.com/itm/100Pcs-Pack-3-9mm-Fish-Eyes-3D-Holographic-Lure-Eyes-Fly-Tying-Jigs-Crafts-Dolls/302036731058?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40130%26meid%3D5a7df6c2d8a94a20836b9dcf0e4c0fd3%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D361869067823
  11. If you want to try making dubbing with air. Try it with just a bag and a can of compressed air. This site will show you how. Its pretty cool. http://dailyflytyer.com/2010/11/1857/
  12. I have the same one. Its the D.H. Thompson Pro Vise. Mine was bought new in 1986 from L.L.Bean. It came with a C clamp. Thompson also had a Pro Vise 2 series. It offered the ped base and a non-glare black finish. Thompson at the same time had the A Vise, Supper AA Vise, Patriot Vise, the 360 clamp or base. I still use mine today. But I have a much newer model that I like better. They might be old, but they don't wear out if you clamp the hook right. Its when you pry to hard down on the lever and it breaks or you chip the jaws. Here are the instructions that came with mine.
  13. It is a sickness. Its when you collect something, Your not sure if you need it. But you never know.
  14. I can see maybe one or two. looks likes the compressed air beats the tip off the sharpie. Then its not good for other uses. If your going to do air brushing. I just think its best, and more economical to use an airbrush kit. You can buy small airbrush kits on eBay and harbor freight.
  15. Ski pole for me. Its about 45" long, shorter than it should be. But I use it more as a walking stick. And for balance getting close to the water, than for wading. I don't venture into fast running water at all, but in a lake. I'm a wet wader. Yea, I only fish when its warm and no rain. I try to take the least amount of stuff with me. I'm not trying to look good fishing. Just like to be out, catching fish.
  16. If you could take a pic and show what your dealing with would probaly help alot.
  17. This is a minnow pattern I was looking for. I'm not into complicated fly tying.
  18. I found this vid interesting om you tube. It on Gamakatsu hooks vs cheap ones.
  19. I always was the winner to the mailbox. But its the pay pal who gets me in trouble.
  20. I don't think they necessarily grip any better. The long spring is really soft so they are really forgiving. For me they are way better than the half dozen or so different types I have. They are on sale for about $7 this month at J Stockard. The brand is Stonfo. They are hackle pliers. If it works good for me. Why would I spend $7 for a new one. Just saying its a good upgrade for some tired old ones.
  21. WOW! Thanks Bob. That really works great. I had a pair that had molded rubber tips. Somehow I lost one. I replaced it with shrink tube, like you said. Plus added it to some old ones. I have some cheap China ones that I hardly used. Now they work great. Try it guys.
  22. Nice indeed. I like homemade stuff. I have made plenty of stuff. Did you buy, find or kill the Moose that had this antler.
  23. I can change out and suck in a new thread in seconds. Plus I have 6 bobbins loaded with thread. At that that price and the pain it looks like to change thread. Not for me. I like what SILKHDH said.. My bobbin has a boi-feedback auto tension system. When I feel it's to loose , I squeeze harder on the bobbin with my palm.
  24. try here. http://www.troutlet.com/McKenzie-Bright-Light-Magnifier-P1170.aspx
