I try not to put flies in there wet, I have drying patches in a few places where they dry. Then I try to open the boxes each night, when I can, if I think things need drying. So, it hasn't been a problem for me.

I got a minimalist, slit foam. silicone, two side box. It's the tiny one with a lanyard for around your neck. And I got two of the biggest ones they make, two sided, silicone, slit foam, see through. All on sale now, half price.

Go fishing Mike, and show me some more of those big black sun fish.

Today, because my flies were starting to pile up and to help support this site, I ordered three fly boxes from Green Caddis. I have two of them already and I like them very much.

Kimo, He's fortunate to have a personal custom tier, and water he can fish in this time of year. If only we had enough time to fish all the flies we could tie.
-
Looks like you're going to have to buy another box pretty soon Kimo.

It looks pretty good, I'm going to try it. I'd like to see you guy's renditions of it too.

You guys make me want to be better.

That's what they call "oval tinsel" size "Fine" it's actually Mylar wrapped around string. Thanks retro, what do you fish with them? And what colors do you like? I'm thinking I will use them for trout and salmon but pike for sure. Next I'm getting into some muddlers. Hope they don't look too elementary next to Scotts Mainly Trout mate ...depends on the sizes , some people prefer the thicker bodies on these flies but I personally go slightly thinner Muddlers are good too Colours for me are olive tones , black and red , All red with gold wire, CDL in medium pardo and red body and all black with gold or red wire....the world of colour is your oyster lol Very cool, thanks

Ice Fishing for Rainbows with Home Tied Ice Flies

Yes, I made it out of my old boat trailer. Do you see the angled slides on the side? When I crank it up with the boat winch, the shack slides up off the ice for easy transport. There is a tour of my house in this video. Google "Ice Castle fish houses" if you want to see some really nice ones. -

Ice Fishing for Rainbows with Home Tied Ice Flies
Mark Knapp replied to Mark Knapp's topic in Fishing Reports
I'm not keeping any fish this year. Last year I kept and smoked a little over 200 pounds of fish caught through the ice. I still have some of them. This year, we only keep fish when I have someone with me that wants to bring them home. -
Do little turtles, they're cool and don't need much care.

We've been catching about 40 a day, and keeping some of the bigger ones. The biggest so far was a 21 1/2 inch fish. We're only allowed one each over 18 inches per day.
