  1. I'm working up a baby crayfish pattern for a secret expedition for huge trophy sunfish. The guy said "Make baby crayfish 3/4" to and inch long, green with orange tips. Here's what I have so far. I started with a bigger one and then some smaller ones on size 10 and 14 swimming nymph hooks.
  2. And they came with a quarter and two dimes?😁
  3. Pst, it's against the law to use barn owl. 😁😊
  4. You may know that I am very enthusiastic about mimicking the main pray species of a particular fish and fishing deep. So, I imagined that this kind of fishing would be right up my alley. I am going to tie up some Quagga mussels (a close cousin to the Zebra mussel, quaggas are the one's in Havasu.) and fish them deep, about 20 feet according to my guide. In talking to my guide, he said there was no need to tie quaggas as anything that looks like a crayfish is killer on the shell crushers. I'm going to tie up a bunch of crayfish and a bunch of quaggas. He said that almost nobody wants to go after redears with a fly. He's almost excited as I am to spend that much time concentrating on them with just fly gear.
  5. Thanks Norm, It turned out to be an Ultimate Indexer with all the bells and whistles. Even some custom stuff from Dyna-King. Now it's mine. I don't know where he got all those names for it.
  6. It depends on what you call a vise. I have some of the cheap kit vises and I have a Regal knock-off. I have a real Regal, the HMH, a Barracuda, the new one and about six vintage vises, a Universal, a Herters , and some others. Plus the drinking, swearing and womanizing. I have some vises. (vices) I guess I have only four good name vises that I would (do) use. I think I will like the new one, gunna clean it up and lube it.
  7. It turns out its an Ultimate indexer with all the accessories and some custom stuff from the factory. It's mine now. I don't know where he got the name. He also said it wasn't made any more. So that's not right.
  8. I called them a couple of times. No-one answering the phone there. It's California so, probably everyone is working from home.
  9. OK, now I understand your situation much better. Your doing good. Just keep doing what you are doing, and if you have to back away, back away slowly and don't lose eye contact. What ever you do, don't run. Never run. PS, she sounds like a very nice lady. Don't tell her where I live.
  10. Your wife sounds mean, I'd tell her to get her office out of my fly tying room. Tell her that, see how it works.😄
  11. Good idea, I'll do that tomorrow. I'm sure he's not going to ask any where near that. If he does, he gets to keep it.
  12. I Googled it but came up with nothing. The Dyna-King web site has nothing. A guy up here has one, and he says I need it. I think I might need it, but I'm not sure. It's strictly a trade deal, he needs some of my stuff. I just want to be able to deal with him fairly. Apparently they aren't made anymore but when they were they cost around $1,400.00. I'm sure you guys will know something or can help me find something.
  13. Yes they do, they actually call them Black sea bass.
