Ken Edmonds' Stealth Bomber

Stealth-Bomber.jpg

Hook - #6.  Not sure of the brand, received in raffle in an unbranded bag at my fly tying club.  Wire seems a bit light for the size, probably why they were given away - LoL.

Thread - green mono-cord

Tail - Olive bucktail over FTD Northern Flash Black Minnow over white bucktail

Body - 2mm craft foam

Underbody - FTD UV-x ET dubbing, yellow

Legs - round yellow hit with a marker

Not real happy with this, but no time to tie another.

I don't usually tie them this big, usually on a #6 B-10s which is significantly smaller. A bit thicker foam would look better on a hook this size.

Normally I would tie the legs shorter, just past the bend, but have seen some tied long like this and thought I would give it a go.  Don't really like it, I can always snip them at the lake.

I always leave out the underwing between the wing and the body on the original, I don't really see its purpose.

Cased caddis along the lines of a pearl core cased caddis tied by Hans at Dakota Angler.

Hook - Size 12 Orvis tactical jig hook

Bead - 3/32 slotted tungsten. I dislike the slotted beads I have so I’m just using them up. They are a little small but the larger ones I have slide right off over the hook eye.

Thread - Black 6/0 uni

Body - Pearl core chenille, head heated with a lighter and colored with a black sharpie

Legs - I used pheasant and partridge

Case - hares ear dubbing dabbled with sharpies/green pheasant tail/Golden pheasant tail

NEXT FLY - PRINCE NYMPH
