I actually just received a bunch of wool from my fiance's aunt, and I wanted to find some patterns to experiment with. Have you had a lot of luck with that pattern for trout? Do you fish is mainly in rivers/streams or lakes? Thanks, and again, great-looking fly! Yes this is a good trout pattern. I fish mainly in rivers. A wool head sculpin and butt monkey are other good patterns for wool... and Mike's organ donor is almost all wool.

Crotalus 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 From this weekend... Using Sculpin Helmets to try to develop a useful sculpin/baby catfish pattern. Working on profile now, will settle on colors later. When I experiment I just use whatever colors I have on hand. Big and Tasty!! Two articulated 6/0 hooks, around 8" long My Flip Flop Frog. Bass love them, tied using actual flip flops that I cut up on my band saw. Four baitfish color variations tied with Fish Skulls.

Chefben4 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 @Crotalus- Big N Tasty=BIG AND AWESOME! Nice job on that guy. I did some tying this weekend too. Here are a couple, the rest will go in their respected sub-forum. Copper John. Colors inspired by the Detroit Red Wings which I had going at the time! I have a long title for this one. "Hog Snare meet Sasquatch. Sasquatch meet Hog Snare" Big browns will be drooling for it.
