Caloosa, that little fly on the first page would be killer for our ditch tarpon once the weather brings them back.

Been tying but not posting...

Here are some from January, tied these in the motel room thinking the bwo patterns I came with were too big (turned out I needed to fish midges, but still stocked my box with some small bwos...)

Nice looking San, those little guys work great here. What size hooks are you using?

Thanks,

GP

Thanks GP, appreciated. The rojo is a 26 (TMC2487), the stoneflys are 16s(TMC2487) and the Catskill style is an 18 (standard dry fly hook).Winter tailwater fishing around here is 24/26 pretty much exclusively. Come spring the stones will come into play

@sandan, yours make those 22s I tied and posted look like giants. ohmy.png

So I'm done with bwos for a while, and moving on to pmds. Instead of a standard pheasant tail for the active nymphs I thought I'd try Burk's HBI, which is supposed to work on picky trout that have seen too many pts. Not sure I believe it, but here they are anyways, 12's down to 22's...

chugbug, Those Burk's HBIs are really nice. Thanks for the included recipe. The BWO's were cool too. I know what you mean about the 26/22 thing. I was texting a buddy last night and I mentioned I had picked up some 28's for our upcoming trip to the San Juan. He sent me a picture of a 24 next to a 32. I could barely even see it in the picture.

Piker ... those long "Feelers?" ... "Tails?" ... whatever those are on the Zelda Tube and the other one ... I've never seen that on a fly before.

Is there a specific reason fro those?

Supposed to represent something in real life?
