smallieFanatic 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2010 Like Cheri my favorite fly to fish is a streamer....stripped. For tying I really like Nymphs and Soft-hackles.
BigDaddyHub 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2010 I favorite fly for aesthetic reasons are the mayfly patterns....fishing flies...I would have to go with streamers (since poppers aren't a choice).
TOM PRUETT 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2010 Since iam just starting out i would have to say dry flys right now.

Johny Utah 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2011 Nymphs for both tying and fishing.
eastern fly 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 I like the streamer. The size and motion that a streamer can give is like a dance in the water. Kevin
Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2011 Didn't vote - I really like soft-hackles, especially old patterns. Like to tie them, and they still catch fish.
invasionqt 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2012 Nymphs for tying and fishing only because most of my fish come on nymphs or attractors. Drys produce few fish but the shear visual enjoyment is hard to pass up.
Crackaig 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2012 Couldn't vote either. For tying my favorite is the last fly of an order! Recently I've been tying a lot of traditional wet flies and "modernising" them. For fishing I tie a lot of still water dry flies. The fly of the season has been the Bibio Sedgehog, if it hasn't caught the fish it has drawn the fish to the other flies on the cast. Cheers, C. boxjoint 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2012 I voted nymphs. I have been tying now for 3 years and find them to be varied enough to be interesting, materials realtively affordable, and fun to fish.
