  1. Gustav, Something was lost in translation. BS means "bullsh!t". :bs: BS'ing means telling jokes, fishing stories that are of a questionable nature, and just plain old goofing around. No back stabbing on this site. Nothing but fun. Rob
  2. Just downloaded FireFox and all is well in the world! :yahoo: My world at least. Not sure about anyone else's. Oh, the little things in life! Rob Just a side note: I found a snafu with Firefox. In the database, if I search by "tyer" I get every fly in the database, not just the person I searched for. Not sure what is up with that.
  3. Gustav, Welcome to the forum. There are a great bunch of people on this site who are willing to share information, BS a little, and goof alot. Rob
  4. I cannot see the patterns in the database anymore either and I have the latest version of Internet Explorer. Not sure what is going on. Rob
  5. I have caught small steelhead on my 5 weight while fishing for trout but it took a long time to get them in. I fish with an 8 weight for the steelhead around here due to the size of 10 to 20 lbs. Rob
  6. Val, You must be looking for the K3A dry fly hooks. It looks like flytire got the link you need. I have used them and I like the way they look. The size is deceptive in that a size 12 is probably 3X long. Rob
  7. Val, Which swedish hook are your talking about? There are many different types? Rob
  8. Freak, I live in Lewiston which is in the northern part of the state. We have lots of Steelies from Riggins north to Lewiston. If you steelie fish, that opens up a whole new can of worms. Not worms, never worms, how the hell did worms wind up in this post. Anyway, if you don't already, tying steelie flies will be the next step in your addiction. When you get moved, let me know and we may be able to arrange a fly fishing trip somewhere in the state. Rob Where abouts in ID you guys live? I am moving to Boise at the end of the month, and will be looking for a new group of tyers to hang out with. I truly love tying big wets for steelhead and anything with CDC for trout. I also like to tye stimi's and wulffs but have learned that I hate tying nymphs especially the smaller ones, I just can;t seem to tye them as nice as the little ladies in Sri Lanka or the commercial tyer can! I know this last satement will open up a can of worms but it's the truth. I love tyin my own flies but some of those micro stones and such are best left alone by me! LOL!
  9. Maybe it's an Idaho thing. I would almost believe that but Leroy Hyatt lives in the same town I do and he spins deer hair flies by the thousands every year. I have tried to copy him but I still struggle. Maybe I am deer hair dislexic? Rob
  10. I love to tie dry flies. Wullfs, Adams, Stimulators, etc. I struggle with spinning deer hair and the trimming gives me fits. Rob
  11. Avelino just posted a few to the Fly Pattern Database that are pretty sweet looking.
  12. Mickalo, I have 2 that I believe are the same in your photo that I do not use. Let me check tonight and I will get back to you about them. Rob
  13. Welcome aboard, I know Traverse City has an Orvis Shop. They could probably hook you up with the patterns you are needing and materials. Not sure if there are any other fly shops in Traverse City. Rob
  14. I ordered a box on Wednesday of last week and got it Saturday. I was hesitant about buying something sight unseen but was extremely pleased with the box. You will not be disappointed. Really cool stuff and the price was way below any store you could buy this stuff from. A happy customer. Rob
  15. Very nice. Buggy looking. Rob
  16. I deleted my post because it sounded kind of mean Jan, Do you stand by what you said in the post you deleted? Did you delete it because you felt you were wrong or were you unsure of the responses you would get from certain people? If you felt you were wrong, then OK but if you were worried about other's responses then you should not have deleted it. You should always stand up for what you believe in and use facts to back up your beliefs. In our society, good honest debate has been reduced to name calling and half truths which never solve anything. Stick to your values. Sincerely, Rob
  17. I am a scientific research publisher at a large northwestern University for my paying job and a log cabin builder in my fantasy world. The economy has put my cabin project on hold for awhile. My wife is a Business Continuity and Disaster Revcovery Manager for a large corporation and my son is a sophmore in high school and my daughter is an 8th grader. Both of my children are spending 21 days in Europe this summer as U.S. Student Ambassadors with People to People Rob
  18. So I swung by the post office today to send my flies and the guy in front of me was getting stamps put on 2 envelopes so he could ship an altoids tin back east. I couldn't imagine any other reason for shipping an altoids container so I asked if there were flies in the tin. He said yes. We introduced ourselves. Whit was shipping wet flies back east. He is also in this swap. What are the odds? Anyway, flies are in the mail. Rob
  19. I have to ask because I do not fish for Pike. What is up with the condom hanging out the back? What the hell is it supposed to be? Is this a joke I am not getting?
  20. Wellman, I like it alot. It looks like a small minnow. Transparent looking. Nice. Rob

Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought the guy was dishonest but I wouldn't have wished this on him. Age 40!
  22. Old Hat, I am needing an address. I know I am really early but I was watching a movie and thought I would get these flies out of the way while watching it. Rob
