I have had very good luck with an all purple fly with pink egg. I also like tying this fly in a mini (size 10 2xl) version. ~James

A classic application would be for a Comet or Boss. Both being Steelhead/ Pacific Salmon patterns with beadchain eyes. ~James

Better yet.....get a Mac running OS X Absolutely love it, and no one bothers to write viruses for it. ~James

Pastor, I have one and love it! It is pressboard with a laminante coating, so, it's not the finest construction-wise, but for the money, you get a lot. ~James

Mine will be in the mail by Saturday. I also need the address. Thanks, James

Would it be possible to see a pic of the less desirable color combo? ~James

Hey Smalliehunter, You can put me down for a L/XL in cool gray with the fly logo. That is, if it's not too late. Thanks, ~James

Any upstate NY flyfishers out there?

Have you fished the Salmon River, and other Onatrio tribs that get steelhead runs? Hope you haven't missed out on that. ~James -
I like it. A good compromise between realism and impressionism. A more importantly, it'll catch some fish! ~James

When I'm tying nymphs, which I am going to lose dozens of, I go with Mustad or Tiemco. Can't beat them for the price. Although I find the Tiemcos to be a significantly sharper hook. The Mustad signature series has some nice hook designs. If I'm tying speys or hairwings, I like Daiichi Alec Jacksons. ~James

I have a FOX BOX which I belive is the same system as bug luggage. I like it. It makes for a very well organized and neat looking fly box. I have never made any large changes in fly size, so I don't know about the flies slipping out. I guess they are a little heavy for their size though. ~James

QUOTE it would wind up and leave balls of tippet I am having trouble visualizing this. Are you getting a birds nest at the end of your leader/tippet? Are you casting with a really tight loop? Try opening up your cast a bit, this may help. What kind of fly/presentation is this happening with? Moving water or still? Maybe with some more info I could try to help more. ~James

Is that for real?!?! Or photoshopped? ~James

Strike Indicator = Bobber Sorry. How can something attached to a line be more responsive and sensitive than the line itself? Unless you are adjusting your indicator for every stream depth variation, you are definately going to be LESS connected than without an indicator. JMHO ~James

Smokey, Sent you a pm for the address. My ants should be going out this weekend. ~James

14lb GL King Salmon on a Alaskan estaz pattern called a Spanker. Half chartreuse, half cerise estaz with a white marabou tail. Garrish looking thing. ~James

Got my flies yesterday. They all look great and can't wait to fish them. One wierd thing......My self addressed envelope ended up in my mailbox without a single mark by the post office. Nothing from where i sent it in NJ or where Skunked sent it from, MI, I guess. I could totally re-send the package .Weird?? Skunked, did you take a little road trip to the garden state?? Thanks again to everybody who tied. ~James

"After hooking into the acrobatic rainbow, the tip of my rod was shaking like a Mexican space shuttle!" No offense to any FTF members from south of the border. ~James
