  1. Arrived today, well done and thanks everyone.
  2. Arrived today, thanks everyone, and especially to our host. Well done.
  3. CDC Elkhair and a Bird's Nest (or any patridge + dubbing combo) would improve on skills, aren't tough from a skills aspect, and the proportions won't frustrate a young tyer. Best of all, they'll catch fish in warm or cold water.
  4. Don't know where to buy the hooks or cork?
  5. Congratulations and best of luck, enjoy Alaska. ((Always had luck with the Dolly Llama tied purple and pink)) And I'm the same way, I enjoy helping others find success as much as my own.
  6. Not sure where you are in MD but FT Belvoir has a really active program. They meet tonight.
  7. I have some soft hackle feathers that have some "curve" to them that I've been considering. I think they're grouse.
  8. Stage 1 prototype. I have some India feathers to put on as a shell and segment the body, tune up the antennae and tail a little and I think this dog might hunt.
  9. Nevermind, I see the pics above. Woohoo some more!!!
  10. Woohoo, awesome....what did I tie? Lol
  11. Konbanwa Chuck-san. Near the Tamagawa at all?
  12. Son of a gun. The origins of the term ( as I heard on the radio today) was from sons who were born at sea, births were taken care of in the gun galley. That aside, the school sounds like a good idea, I read about one somewhere, it was a 5-day school. I found that rather interesting. Good luck and most of all, enjoy the time there.
  13. Now this is something I got to see!!!! I'm kind of curious about it myself.
  14. I was gonna skip swaps for a whIle but I think I can muster up a centipede.
  15. See if you can pinch off some of the hair off the tail. That would be my concern with that one. Check out the devil bug, it's similar to what you tied up. Catches a little of everything. If you want it to float, it'll float. Fish it as a terrestrial or as a wet fly. This is a little more than the standard pattern.
  16. Surprised. Shocked. Saddend. Maybe the whole range of emotions? They really turned into a fly of desperation. Little too much to tie on the road. My fault for procrastinating, I should have tied them before my trip, at home in comfort. I tied these at the hotel sink counter because that was the only edge that my vise would clamp to. I am a huge fan of the Dolly Llama. Maybe next time.
  17. "Conehead double bunny shama llama ding dongs" are wrapped up and mailed tomorrow.
