Bluegill Bomber “B2”. (Google says that isn’t a fly pattern). Hopefully that’s true - not trying to steal anyone’s name.

No disrespect meant, found these "Bluegill Bombers" in my files from the net.

Bluegill Bomber

By Matt, (Warm Water Fly Fisher) PA

From <http://flyanglersonline.com/flytying/fotw2/060908fotw.php>

One day while tying at the bench I came up with this fly. I was just messing around and I thought the fly looked pretty cool so I tried it out. It is a effective fly for me for panfish. They generally hit this fly while it is sinking or while I slowly pull and twitch it along the bottom. I hope you enjoy it.

And this one.

Gary's Bluegill Bomber

This #panfish pattern can be found on southeast flyfishers forum website. I think it has a lot going for it: the peacock cactus chennille, orange legs drive bluegill nuts, and the mylar shell back along the back is bright. A little hackle behind the bead gives just a little more wiggle. This is tied on a size ten nymph hook.

Certainly both different from your pattern.

Elegant fly.  (as always )

I wish I could get fly heads to be that nice.  Any hints, advice or references on how to do that would be appreciated.

A panfish fly

I think you’re being overly concerned about a generic name. Stealing the pattern and calling it something else is the crime. Using the same general name as somebody else is a big nothing. Im sure a panfish fly has been used already as well. If it is bothersome to you just call it a Squeezy bluegill bomber like Gary did.

by the way, nice pattern!
