The only critique would be matching size hook to pattern your tying, in the case of the popper, body seems too long, start actual stacking just in front of hook point. Diameter normally is equal to ( or a tad bigger), from tip of hook to top of shank.

Thanks Bruce, these proportions are very helpful.  I have the PR320 in a 2/0, I thought it was too much hook shank at first but I see now that is not the case when starting to stack at the hook point.

Absolutely Beautiful! What is the wing on that one? The lighting contrast really shows how perfect the dimpling on the buts when you tie in a wing.

I have a buddy who love to fish black and purple.  I tied this up with him in mind.

Nice job on the DH Diver. Saltwater guys swear by that color combo for nighttime fishing.

Interesting, it does well for Great Lakes steelhead tho my go to is white and pink.

Thx Bruce,  that face-on example was especially helpful.  The spectacular collection behind continues to amaze.  You must have razor blades on subscription.

I’m starting to understand when to; wrap, stack, spin, pinch, fold, push or trim the deer hair. Balancing the colours is truly an art, anticipating the impact of thread torque on different types of hair is a little tricky but I doubt a pike cares much about colour symmetry.  Here’s another round of practice from the vice tonite.  IMG_2651.thumb.jpeg.dbb9f42ab2193759b0020f1f26a52aab.jpeg
