Li'ldave, whats the name of that pink pattern there and is there any tutorials for it? that pattern is perfect for the redfish im currently chasing around

Hmmm.... good question spulve.

 

It's my take on 'Dave's pink shrimp' essentially. No. Not me.

 

There was an article on the original in the ozzie fly mag, 'flylife' a little while ago.

 

I could maybe do a tutorial / step by step for you if you like?

 

Materials are

 

#4 to 2/0 SL12S (depending on your target, the above are on a 1/0)

 

Dumbell eyes or beadchain depending on water depth. I'll also often add a little bit of lead as a keel to help make sure it rides hook up.

 

Marabou for mouth parts, and one or two wraps of an orange ep brush.

 

Mono eyes

 

Silicon legs. I'll use the clear ones with the hot orange tied into the fly body.

 

Ep brush, or Congo hair that I make into a brush for the body (and trimmed)

 

And then the wing is the same material (Congo hair or ep)

Thanks Poopdeck! It's polar chinele palmered on hook shank, white out back & yellow up front! Had to use five beads & still not sure if hooks are to close!?! White rabbit zonkers on top & used the long tag end of veevus 0.10 mono for ribbing!
