JasonV 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2015 I'm in. I have to order some zonker strips but that will give me time to finish up these poppers. I will do a Deer Hair Mouse with a zonker tail.

vicrider 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2015 Okay Dave, what the heck is that pink fly of yours in the mouth of? Nothing this freshwater fisherman has ever seen.
Li'lDave 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2015 Its a pikey bream lives in our tropical estuaries. In a size 2 should also work for bass
Adam Saarinen 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2015 A pikey bream? Thats a new one i've never heard of! We have a pike pearch here = Kuha in Finnish!
vicrider 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2015 Since there's going to be more than one slumpbuster style fly in this I thought I'd take a different tack. I've finished up a set of raccoon/rabbit zonkered wooly buggers. Finnish Raccoon strip for the tail instead of marabou and palmered rabbit strip for the body. Look pretty good if I say so myself. They are mid-body weighted with 10 wraps of .025 to try to keep them level in the water and light enough to cast.
