Mother Day Drifting Caddis Swap

Two more sets of flies arrived today thanks add147 and jjs89yj. Two sets to go and 2 days till Moms day. Thanks to everyone who got them in on time. The other two sets are in the mail so I should be able to get these out next week.

The final two sets of flies arrived today! Thank you to everyone for tying up excellent caddis patterns and a big thanks for getting these in on time. I will photograph and sort these next week and get them back out to you along with a special extra fly as a bonus.

Excellent.

Ended up fishing yesterday with the rejects of the swap fly I sent in. As luck would have it there was a major hatch emerging on a nearby trout pond and I absolutely hammered the brookies on the caddis emerger. Rises were violent at times and it was clear they were taking emergers.

 

Was roughly 20 fish before the peacock herl head was destroyed, and about 10 fish later they destroyed the ribbing wire holding the trailing shuck down and I had to tie on a new one. I experimented after that fly was toast with a #16 griffith's gnat, which is one of my favorites, and didn't have 1 hit - put another emerger on and it was a fish every third cast again.

 

If I can figure out how to put up a video here I will later. Got some pretty good footage with my phone.

Well guys I have all the flies sorted and ready to go they will leave on monday. . No time in my crazy schedule to take pics hopefully someone else will oblige. Great patterns and once again thank you all for the extras.

Well after a week filled with the joy of kids and stomach flu, I finally got them in the mail. Thanks again to everyone who participated and big thanks for all the extras guys. Tight Lines and a summer full of evening caddis to you all.

Those how know me on this site know I love Caddis Fly Patterns, so this was a natural. Boy did it pay off! Great set of flies in my mailbox this morning. Thanks Pica for hosting and thanks to all the tyers for some wonderful caddis for me to fish!

Got mine in today, not several days ago. The ones I received then were for a streamer swap, guess I had an attack of " old timers ". Anyway, these caddis will be put to good use this summer. Thanks to everyone.

Funny Jolly Red...I was wondering what streamers you had in your package? See, I also had a bunch of streamers I got for the caddis swap but dog gone then I got a bunch of caddis in place of the streamer swap. Can't people read anymore. :-)
