McFlyLures 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2017 Many people have already asked me to tie a fly with my beard hair, so here it is! I cut some hair from my beard, then tied a clouser minnow with it. I even went out and tested it on the water and I caught a few smallmouth bass with it! Pretty funny actually, catching fish with my beard. Hook: Gamakatsu SS15 - Size 2 Weight: Brass Dumbbell Eyes - 5MM Eye Adhesive - Super Glue Thread: Ultra thread 140 - Brown Fiber: My Beard! UV Resin: Solarez "Bone Dry"

mikechell 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2017 I guess the color is right for gold fish, or something ... but like you said, it doesn't move much, in the tank. Since it caught fish, I think you should tie up about 100 or so. I am not sure what kind of reply you expected ...
McFlyLures 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2017 Haha Mike, yours and my interactions on here have become sorta a running joke. I didn't expect much, just was making a joke. I don't have enough hair to tie 100. Lol. But yes, there are better materials to use for fly tying, my hair is not great for it. It was only a joke type video, not meant to be a serious fly. Can't believe I caught actually. Haha
