rib - medium tinsel opal
body - aftershaft (in dubbing loop)
shoulder - sharptail grouse
collar/head - caribou hair

Scott has reached that point in my book where he could tie a turd on a hook and it would still look like a million bucks to me.

@Christian.s  Nice fly. Now that’s an unusual dubbing mix ! Why the nymph hook?  Is this guy

a floater or subsurface ?

In some cases, critique may not be asked for but it really may be necessary. In cases of proper fish handling, general safety precautions, and matters of ethics and legality, critique may not be welcomed but in the interest of a better community and community image it may be necessary.

That looks like chit!   But if that was the intention I am sorry.🤪🤗

I fish them subsurface, I do tye this on a dry fly hook as well but I find fishing spent patterns under the sure face works great. All dead insects will tend to sink at some point so I have a dry and wet version of this on me.

Not sure if you’ve seen a Jingler but it’s (usually) a hackled mayfly dry with a softhackle collar on the front, like so

The Mungler’s an attempt (tongue in cheek) to achieve the same effect with ungulate hair.  Your constructive criticism is always welcome.

Scott

Just messin with you Scott.  Is that what that is, ungulate hair?     You can’t see big grins on posts.  😛.  I did post some flash muddlers awhile back.   Used foil for wings and tails and spun some flash with the big hair heads.  Can’t see it in pic. I put on eyes.  I was playing.   You are serious with yours....😳

flytire's Butcher Nymph from yesterday had me thinking of one of my favorite classic wets, the Grizzly King, so I had to tie up a nymph version of it also:

Hook: Saber #12  streamer, 2xl

Thread: Black, 70D

Tail: Grizzly hen fibers, red marker

Rib: Small silver holo

Body: Green floss

Thorax: Black ostrich
