I wanted to jump in on the challenge but work had me very busy lately. Anyway, I had two Polish quills left and this was the only fly I finished since I broke the second one. I’ll have to get some more and try again.

Mahogany Dunn dry fly

Hook - Size 14

Thread - 8/0 Uni, Burnt orange

Wing - Wood duck

You’re a machine. Just ridiculously consistent great ties! I don’t know how you do it. I tried and tried and tried and only made a mess. Love seeing your work.

Thank you sir.

Some really nice patterns being offered up this month and of course, Flytire’s flies are all impressive. Keep it up guys, it’s getting me through all this freaking rain.

Thank you. I prefer to tie traditional flies with natural materials. However, I have no bias against synthetics. When I saw these posted online I thought those look like they will catch fish. The original post called for a size 10 hook. That may be a bit large on my local waters so I dropped it to a number 14. We’ll see how they work.

Some awesome flies coming off the vise this month.

Bruce, is the spinning hair you have dyed over white or bleached then dyed?

Bruce,

Wonderful work with the deer hair. Thanks for posting. If you tie any more, I might have to pull out some deer hair. Unfortunately, mine will look that they were tied by a 6th grader. No offense to 6th graders.
