sniperfreak223 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2014 I tie a fairly simple one, just a darker foam back with a lighter color foam wound for the abdomen, deerhair wing, rubber legs, dubbed thorax and the foam from the back pulled back over the thorax and base of the wing to form the head. Bryon Anderson 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2014 Check this site out -- great patterns, and they sell the materials, even hopper "kits" to tie everything you see on the site. I bought some of their stuff last summer and had a great time with it. http://www.hopperfishing.com/store/

notenuftoys 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2014 A simple beetle is about as easy to tie as anything. Tie in the foam pointing to the rear of the hook, dub with you favorite dubbing or peacock herl, tie in rubber legs, then pull the foam over the top and tie off. Simple to tie, and panfish will eat them all day long.
