March Flies from the Vice

Recommended Posts

I'm really liking the "tail" on the midge, so I did some in green D-rib and white embroidery thread. (it's got some sparkle in it)

I haven't seen any others done this way, so I am calling it a "tailed midge".

That's a great fly mikechell. I am definitely going to have to give that a try.

Thanks, add.

I hope they catch fish as well as they look. This time in the hotel has given me a chance to tie up some patterns I never would've at home. I am really looking forward to getting home and trying some of them out on the bluegills

Thats a really cool pattern you've come up with, Mike. I'm gonna have to tie a few myself to try out.

Gives me warm fuzzies, Cream. I don't mean to gush, but your work really is among the top deer hair guys I've seen.

That buzzer looks so juicy Mike. Just know that's going to attract everything. Have you used the white thread to rib from head to tail too.

Thanks, Piker.

Yep, the second to last step is to start the thread at the tail and build it up, then rib to just behind the dubbing and tie off there.

My last step, to make it durable, is to coat it with a layer of clear polish.
