mikechell 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2016 Neat looking bug, flymanaj. Add a few legs in there when you tie in the hair, and in my opinion, it would be perfect. Probably doesn't need legs, but I like the look of them.
flymanaj 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2016 This fly is a first try. Its a product of a late night mixed with a little bourbon. The next version will probably have legs and some Krystal flash in the wing. I like the way they look too!

Philly 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2016 Nice. I have an old balsa popper I picked up at flea market similar to it I picked up at a flea market for $1. Painted black. It has a black feather on each side for a wing and a V cut out of the front for the mouth. I've been meaning to make one out of foam. I actually got the body shaped, just haven't gotten around to finishing it.

flymanaj 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2016 Thanks. I got the idea from the old wood lures with hair wings.
FlaFly 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2016 I've got a few of those old bream bobbers that were shaped like dirigibles (see pic below). More recently they're made of Styrofoam. I've been thinking of cutting one in half, making two pencil-popper type bodies. I would think you could make one of these bass bugs out of one. Adam Saarinen 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2016 First ever rubber legs on flies were from a pair of underpants! I'm sure they have underpants in Dollartree Mike!:-) I also read once that none of the flytying rubberlegs have as good a movement as the rubber strands found in old style underpants! FlaFly 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2016 Well if they did, they'd certainly have great movement!
