The boat is a beast. Also, everything is stowed in watertight storage (minus the rods) so that if I end up getting rained on nothing gets wet. Most of the accessories stay loaded on the kayak when it is on the trailer so pretty much it is throw in the tackle bag, some rods, connect the battery, and go.

The spotlock trolling motor function is incredible and allows for easy positioning. I am thinking about adding the GPS Heading sensor that allows for directional stability in spotlock and also a jog function that allows you to fine tune your spotlock position in 5 foot increments.

All of my other kayaks are of a narrow beam and standing up is not practical, this thing is extremely stable making standing effortless. Really changes my capabilities with the fly rod as casing while sitting down at the water level can be challenging.

I also added navigation and cockpit lights for night docklight fishing:

Nice set up Chaising Tails.

Not too may people can say they limited out with one cast. But that’s what happened last night. First cast caught a slot fish. Then fished another 20 minutes and landed a big overslot fish. Released him and went home happy.

Well, the March and April snook season was a blast. MUCH more “slot sized” fish in the freshwater this year. The freezer is stocked to last till September. With several bags already distributed around to family and friends, and a few more since to coworkers.
One particular night 7 people including me were fishing the 40ft dock at the spillway. In 45 min I saw over 60 snook landed. It was a night I won’t soon forget. Everyone on almost every cast was hooked up.
Now it’s time to switch gears. Shellcrackers and big bluegill should be moving in to the shallows. Time to get the 3wt. and kids ultralights rigged up for summer fun. Here’s a few pics from an Aunt’s house with a small pond that is always a hit.

I'll be making the switch to 3wt fishing in another month. Are you freezing your fish in bags of water? You should get a vacuum sealer. Total game changer when it comes to frozen fish.

I freeze mine in water, too.  Keeps them fresh for much longer than any other system I've tried.  Freezer burn and drying out are effects I've seen in other systems.  Don't get either of those encased in ice.

Interesting, never heard of doing that. It's gotta just kill a nice piece of fish but probably not as bad as freezer burn. Fortunatly, I don't have to freeze fish for more than a month or two and vacuum sealing keeps it as fresh as the day it was caught.

Been thinking about getting one, but just never have. Mentioned it to the wife the other day. Not for fish specifically.

Never ever had a problem with fish frozen in water. Then again, within 3-4 months its been eaten and replaced. Taste and texture of a thick snook fillet is the same when cooked immediately or thawed a month from now. At least what I can tell.

I couldn't function without my vacuum sealer that I've owned for probably 20 years maybe more. In addition to fresh caught fish,  I use a vacuum sealer more for freezing steaks, chops and chicken that I will load up on when it's on a two for one sale. I hate paying full retail. My buddy shoots 6 to 8 deer each year and he keeps me plussed up on venison baloney that I vacuum seal as well. And my number 1 reason why I love my vacuum sealer is to freeze fresh corn cut from the cob so I can enjoy real corn all winter.

If your gonna buy one buy a good one. You won't regret it if you freeze a lot of things.

A little cricket bobbing this morning. Me and grandpa usually have to bring him to find the fish. He started the morning with the first google one.

A state lake reopening youth day, today.   Took couple girls and they had a ball!   Target the cats👍  Timid at first after couple of hours they were manhandling them.   By 11:00 they disappeared; sacked out in the car😂  Opens again 6 Am Wednesday for ereybody; gonna be worse crowd.   They had shocked a 19” WhiteCrappie and lots of 14-19” bass.   Won’t be able to fly fish, too crowded for backcasts prolly.  Was like that on another opener years ago.

I'm so happy for you and the girls. A day they'll always remember. I love to eat catfish.

Took a half day off work and got out to the river for about 5 hours for a final striper trip since the run has just about run its course. Ended with 20 in the boat, the biggest going 25", 26"' and 27". Lost another 4 fish along with 30 bucks in tackle. We kept 3 slot fish (21" to less than 24") because there's not much better than fresh striped bass. Although we didn't catch anything big I think I'll go out one more time.
