Downsized and simplified version of a cool fly I saw on the Speypages site; still needs work but it has possibilities. Ryan Houston has a nice video of a fully dressed one.

hook - WFC Model 6 #8 
thread - Veevus 8/0 tan 
tail- pheasant rump 
rib - small oval tinsel gold
body - Ice Dub hare’s ear grey 
wing - pheasant body feather
hackle - pheasant rump

Head - Dyed Yellow or Light Olive Deer Hair

Of the 2 flies I tied of this pattern, this one won best of show

I little golden stone I whipped up to match some naturals I saw on the water. 

Hook: U203R size 20

Thread: Uni 8/0 orange

Thorax/abdomen: Hare-tron yellow 

Body/throat hackle: Whiting lt. barred ginger

Wing: mottled yellow web wing

As usual, excellent work on these pages all.

Mylar Minnow

Hook - Mustad 9671, 9672 or equivalent
Weight (optional) - Lead/lead free wire
Thread - White or clear sewing thread
Tail - Marabou
Under body - Floss, yarn etc. tapered to shape. Color the back with a marker
Over body - Pearl mylar piping
Eyes - Painted black over yellow
Gills - Red marker

Overcoat the entire body with epoxy or UV resin if desired

I tied these #24s for one of my home waters, the Swift River here in Mass.   More often than not Micro flys (dry and wet) can be the best option for the big Rainbows there so it pays to have at least a few ready.

ABDOMEN/BODY: ULTRA FINE DRY FLY DUBBING

WING: CDC WHITE
