  1. Thanks, I'm glad my fish are stupider than me. Some fly fishers seem to get very technical to catch a fish. I don't want to have to think too hard. I just want to catch fish.
  2. Those are great, I didn't get mine yet but I'm looking forward to them. Funny thing is, I forgot which one I tied. I'll have to go back and look it up. Great job everybody.
  3. I like it. It will certainly catch fish and it don't look bad either.
  4. First, post some pictures of them here. The second thing will make itself known.
  5. Nothing is spawning yet, but grayling will still be eating egg patterns. They eat them all year long. Like I said in another thread, try a Salcha Pink
  6. I'm not sure what "whippersnappering" is, and I wouldn't want to be guilty of it, so what the heck is it. And whatever it is, Samson, quit doing it.
  7. Hoochies (or hoochie skierts) are in the lure making department. They are deadly in the sea when fly fishing is out do to inclement weather. We get get that sometimes... inclement weather.
  8. One question Mr. What makes a euro rod different from a regular rod?
  9. What does "NEED" have to do with anything.
  10. No offense taken. That's why there are so man good fishing opportunities up here. Because the harsh conditions keep the..... um..... "riff raff" out. Right now is actually the best time of the year to ice fish. The new water ( and oxygen) running into the lakes from spring run off rejuvenates the fish and makes them hungry. Also many species are staging for spawning, it's an exciting time.
  11. Impulse control? You want to see some pictures of my impulse control? Part of my Hackle drawer. Part of my bank of feather drawers. Some of the fly tying stuff. Impulse control.....BUH
  12. Impulse what!!?? Control, who ever heard of such a thing? I'm going to have to flag you if you're going to keep up with this kind of silly talk.
  13. That's funny but don't you mean "Mike Chell EVERY TIME you take a picture" Just teasing.
  14. Nope, not yet. See my Birthday pike from this week end. Some one just caught a 29 3/4 inch and a 30 1/2 inch rainbow in Tiers back yard, at Quartz lake. Still 24 inches of ice there.
  15. Beetle kill is very nice stuff, I have a piece destined for a knife handle.
  16. I am sorry to disappoint all of you, I didn't make the box, I got it as a gift at a TU meeting. I had it for a while and enjoyed (but I didn't use it) but now it's time for someone else to enjoy it
  17. You may need to consider other material choices for your legs if you want them to float like, deer hair (Moose, elk and caribou are also deer hairs that float).
  18. What problem are you tying to solve? Have you solved it with a tube full of a waterlogged sponge that floats just below the surface? Since the tube itself sinks, will the tube full of a waterlogged sponge still float? All questions you must ask yourself, grasshopper.
  19. Open cell foam is a sponge, literally. It will keep water in the tube, not help keep it out. The color, I get. Edit, In fact, the open cell foam will draw water in, that's what sponges do.
  20. No, I'm sorry, the rest has been donated to our local TU chapter for fly tying schools.
  21. Since you're going to seal the ends, you don't need the foam. It's the air that makes it float, not the foam.
