Dry Fly Swap - Return In Mail

Recommended Posts

I don't know James. Maybe we've just had too many swaps close together and people are prepping for the season coming up and filling spots in the box rather than a mixture from a swap. I've looked for that one tire to finish out my Stonefly swap but have extras from flytire so we'll have full returns even if we don't get that last spot filled. I even debated about throwing another swap out there myself since I have a package to send out tomorrow, Stoneflies to do, H&L Variant to finish up on, and foolishly signed up for a Facebook swap. The last two weeks for me have been a disaster between a tornado on edges of town killing one,  5 other assorted deaths in our small town for various  reasons, relatives in town from MN, AZ, and NC meaning two weeks I never even looked at my fishing room (it became a spare bedroom).Time for me to catch up with my swaps and then backoff and plan some fishing myself.

I was thinking people may be swapped out.  Also, people have a lot going on in their lives.  It seems to come in waves.

I just remember way back when how fast swaps filled up.  If you didn't respond within a day there wouldn't be any room left.  It wasn't always the same group of tiers also.  The pool of tiers wanting to swap was much larger than it is at present.   Giving that, the smaller pool of swappers may be leading to swap fatigue.  As I stated elsewhere, I don't know.  Just thinking out loud.

There are two spots left in this swap and it's been less than a week. We'll see if it caps out.

Mostly though, I hope that things mellow out in your world. That's quite the litany of happenings.  Stay safe and well.

I think that people tie less as the weather gets better and they start fishing or working around the yard and garden more(New England) It was easier for me when I was still working to sit and tie year-round, but now getting pulled in different directions from family because you are retired and perceived as having nothing to do (could you come and help me) I do not know how I ever found time to work for a living.

niveker an Northcaddis you're in.  Thank for joining.   One spot to go and it's full.  Northcaddis was already in.  We discussed it via DM.

Also, thanks on the feedback on swap participation.  As said, just thinking out loud.  Just spit balling here.  :)

I'm in and probably do a H&L Variant. If it was good enough for Dwight Eisenhower, the last real president, it should be good enough for us, though I'm sure the ones tied for him by R.C. Coffman that paid for his House and Lot (thence the name) were nicer than anything I'll tie but I'll give it my all.

Nick

edit...After doing some checking it should really be "hence the name" and not thence.

😁 Hence the edit
