chugbug27 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Flytire, I think I listened to that album in my car for two years straight... Here's one from Glen Miller with the Army Air Force Band, 1942: Must Be Jelly, 'Cause Jam Don't Shake Like That!
mikechell 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Love Glenn Miller, and a lot of the other Big Band era composers and instrument players. All great, until the singing starts.
chugbug27 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Well, then, this one's for you mikechell, Glenn Miller's 1939 instrumental of Little Brown Jug (1869): Here's the singing version by one of my favorite New Orleans bands, the Palmetto Bug Stompers:
mikechell 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Thank you, Chug. I enjoyed that first version. And thanks for the warning ... I didn't watch the second. This is my favorite kind of music, modern day orchestra works. Usually soundtracks ... this one from the movie "Sunshine".

xterrabill 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2018 flytire, I had 11th row center for a show on that peter gabriel growing up tour, one of the best concerts I ever seen, and that's saying a lot, I have been to many, the sound system was incredible! the girl singing also did a separate show on a smaller stage before the concert and she is phenomenal! gabriels daughter is also crazy good. Lesg, check out the live at London version of the zz top/jeff beck sixteen tons tune, the vocals are unprocessed, actually sound better IMO. (actually sounds like gibbons) very cool thread here
