Working on a cicada pattern for a few days....this is that ive come up with so far. This is version 4....still needs work.

Ass end tied exactly like Curtis Fry's Project Cicada

Wings are flash

Indicator is some pre-treated parapost material in orange for visibility and floatation

head is deer hair

eyes are built up with resin and marker

Archaic non-UV resin, a terrible drying wheel, and a little patience helps produce the belly of this streamer.

Love those little monsters bro ... Do you have SBS for those ? or a tying Video ( youtube)wouldn't mind tying a few of those up for start of bass season.

It does just enough to keel the fly and I love the translucency you get with the beads/Liquid Fusion combo.

No SBS. It is still a work in progress. Cicadas are an interesting beast to get to work correctly in the water. If you want to pick up where I am at now....watch fly fish food's project cicada....tie the ass of the cicada just like that and attach it to the hook. tie in some flash wings and the parapost material and put some deer hair on the head. Its fairly simple.
