April Flies From the Vise

Recommended Posts

Was going fishing on small lake yesterday morning and decided to tie up something a little random before I left. Ended up with this slider. Gave off a swimming lizard or praying mantis vibe. Worked really well so I decided to give it a bit of a sprucing up.

I’d like to see that pattern!   Lots of mosquito fish in the canals near my inlaws place in florida.   Need some good canal patterns for snook and snapper.

cphubert, we call this fly The Shady Lady.  I like it exactly as you tie it.  Tied in small sizes they are great for brook trout also.

Never knew the proper name, I picked one up from a shop years ago and have been tying them, the green machine, and carter's bugs for salmon. Glad to know the name! Thanks!
