Collins grizzly saddle #3 and Collins brown cape feather #3 *** used teal flank instead of mallard flank for added definition and used CDL for tailing instead of Golden P. tippet
jeb605 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2021 To Moshup (I'm new poster) Are these Collins hackles you show Aug 2020 from Collins directly? If so, how can I contact Mr. Collins? Thanks.

Poopdeck 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2021 The lady benson has me looking for teal flank feathers. Looks way better than mallard or wood duck. There, the great silent majority has spoken.
Moshup 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2021 👍😃😃😃 , Thank you Poopdeck. I remember this post from a while back and I remember posting some flies showing how nice the Collins hackle looked on a dry fly. I know you can’t tie 6 dries with a Collins as opposed to a Whiting but the commercial capee are a great value and a good deal for someone looking to get into tying some nice dry flies. DrLogik 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2021 I have a number of Charlie Collins necks. My most coveted neck is a Cree I got from him a number of years ago. It is simply on a different level than any other Cree neck. His necks' hackle make the most buggy looking flies you have ever tied. For the money, they are the best deal there is, plus you get the saddle with the hackle neck!
