  1. Welcome to the site. You'll have to be more specific as to what waters you'll be fishing. I know there are areas that only offer trout, some that have bass and panfish. But use whatever you have. If you don't catch anything, try something else. I'm a firm believer that fish are, basically, dumb. You throw a 5 inch Rapala to a fish that's never seen one, and you'll likely get a strike ... no matter what kind of fish it is. What you DO have to be careful of is, many of the clear water areas, if you see the fish, it sees you and it won't hit anything. But good luck, and tell us (with pictures) how you do!
  2. Nicely done! I like the lights in the discharge ... very realistic.
  3. Welcome to the site, SouthJersey !!! I hope you find plenty of inspiration here. Just ask and you'll get plenty of advice.
  4. Talented family !!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpZAhMEjrxw
  5. This picture is when the shop had just been release for occupation ... It looks different now. But I'm just putting this picture here to show that I just paneled the entire shop with peg board.
  6. I have two 5 lb. dumbbell weights. Basically, they're plastic covered cement and they work well. But, I'm in a canoe, not a kayak when I am using them.
  7. Very nice, Bryon. Both the net and the shop. How do you have the shop set up inside? Mines a mess ... haven't really been able to concentrate on it for a long time.
  8. Welcome to the site, Kelly. I hope we see some great pictures of flies, tying and fish!
  9. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to everyone. Nice layout of flies, flytire.
  10. Yep, true statement Flytire. I feel the same way about actors/actresses. If I wanted the opinion of drama queens ... I'd ask my cats.
  11. Recently declassified photos from the D.A.R.T. mission.
  12. I've built shadow boxes for other items ... not flies. To show off a particular item, you don't change the item, you build the box to show it off. Do one with a narrow range of fly sizes. Once you get outside of that range, start another box with the next up/down range.

    Eagle Hunting

While I am not into religions of any kind ... I do agree with those that recommend cutting off the hand(s) of thieves. Along those line, this guy should've had his dominate arm amputated AND put in jail for as many years as he spent hunting illegally.
  14. I keep mine with me in case I need emergency help. I use it to play games when I'm on the ... throne. Other than that, I rarely deal with it.
  15. AOL. We take advantage of the free/low cost benefits of AOL and due to that, it works well for us. I've got my "E-mail Preferences" set to "contact only", so I don't get anything spam-like on it. At work, we have an internal system linked to ".edu", so I don't get much garbage on that either.
  16. It will happen. Hopefully, when AI takes over, it will be less destructive than "The Matrix" or "Terminator" ... but probably not. I think Asimov's "I Robot" was as good a prediction as ever. Unfortunately, AI will take over before we have self aware super-capable robots to help us. We're likely doomed.
  17. Sorry for your damage, but glad to see you didn't suffer more severe losses.
  18. Beautiful music from "Tron: Legacy" https://youtu.be/-gKrIBR83b8?si=pfsVcD-_8Q7zIAoC
  19. Not a trout guy or a salmon guy. Not a salt water guy, either. Quite happy fishing my local ponds, rivers and lakes. It's just fishing for me. A hobby like many other hobbies I have. I wouldn't travel across the country to find wood working shops. Won't travel just for fishing spots. That said, work and military have taken me to all 50 United States and 18 different countries ... so my "need to travel" days are behind me.
  20. Sooooooo ... refilling this thing would be <somehow> easier than refilling a fly box? What, the fly WANTS to be in the spinner so badly it jumps right off the vise into it? The guy in the picture isn't even wearing one ... it's a badly cut/paste of the image at the top. Oh, wait ... You could get several. Then use them to roll down hillsides to quickly get to the water.
  21. Heard this for the first time about 4 years ago. Earwormed it's way into my day and had to listen to it again. Got a little bit of everything in it. https://youtu.be/sJ1eZe88keg?si=Jcav97kLApF9KB-N
  22. Welcome to the site!
  23. Yeah, that's a pretty one. Very nice work on the grips.
