for gills keep the tail to the size of the hook gap. for crappie go longer you can also taper the tails over aflame but do it slowly

my best mops are tied on a 1/64 jighead or beadhead blue has been my best color . if small to med gills are around use a shorter tail .

there is a product called flylipps. you just tie the bill on . they say you can tie the bill either up or down. balancing them is the tricky part
