A 12 day float on the Wood river chain in SW Alaska MORE PICTURES

Recommended Posts

My buddy and I just got back from an epic float trip in south-western Alaska. On the trip we caught grayling, dollies, rainbows, sockeyes, chums and pike.

Here are some highlights.

Twenty inch grayling taking a fly.

Another one, you can see all his buddies below him.

Those are all sockeyes in the back ground.

Here's on for you Steve, my eight wt. worked great. An 18 and 22 inch rainbow and a dolly.

Sockeye on the grill.

Sockeyes on the spawning bed.

Contrary to popular opinion, sockeyes do aggressively take flies, sometimes.

Still going through pictures, should have a couple more good ones to show you.

Welcome home!  Fantastic pictures ... more clear than my still pictures in the air!  Good to read about your great time!

Thanks. Those are all snap shots from Go Pro videos that I am going to need to edit. Got a lot of those piling up now. I'm looking for a user-friendly editing program if you have a suggestion. Or any one else.

Awesome pics Mark; thank you for sharing.  The grilled salmon made my mouth water.  A 10 day float trip catching fish like you caught .... wow, that's the trip of a lifetime.

Outstanding trip of a lifetime. I'm lucky to get half a day to fish. I'm impressed with the underwater photos and the clarity of the water. Photoshop Elements 2021 would be a possibility but it requires a learning curve. AMHIK. Check with a local photographer for advice on this.

I recall BASS doing a test on mono line visibility about 40 years ago. The test was in a Florida spring that had visibility of 100 yards!

Looks like a fantastic time Mark. Absolutely beautiful pic 😎 (Grayling taking the fly) I think I'd have a hard time not enlarging and framing that one.

Yes, I was thinking of doing that.

What some of us would call a trip of a lifetime, Mark just calls it going fishing. Mark, great trip and pictures.

I do my video editing using the "Photo" software that came with my computer.  Microsoft "Photo" now includes a video editing program.
