  1. I had typed a nice long explanation but when I pushed "submit reply" I got the "resource limit reached" error. I'll try again later.

    Coronavirus?

Alaska only has 9 cases so far. No matter how scared you get Mike, you still can't come here.😋 Now I'm going to get a little sappy. I just lost my little brother to Alcoholism. I hope all of you stay safe, it would be sad to hear of losing any of you to this. I'm no alarmist, and this thing is sure hyped up a lot, but it will kill some people and we have quite a few older folks here on this forum. Do what you have to do to stay safe.
  3. Yes, I go there for the Tucson Gem and Mineral show. I'm sorry to say that I have not been there for fishing. It's a beautiful state. We stay in Sierra Vista, it's quite charming there with Gambles quail bebopping around and roadrunners zipping around.
  4. The wormies from the Walgreen wormie balls melted a little bit when the brand CA glue I use (E-Z bond) was applied but it was manageable.
  5. Certainly it would depend on the area and the time of day/year. An overnight tournament would be cool because the fishing can be pretty surprising.
  6. I just got a bunch of the hooks on sale. From streamers to nymphs and dry fly hooks. Barbless and barbed. They are nice.
  7. This whole site is for chatting. Us older folks don't spend much time chatting unless we have something to say. You probably have the distinction of being the youngest guy here. What would you like to chat about James.
  8. Wrapping it in chenille instead of the thread won't cut the wormie like thread does.
  9. I thought you might have some statistics and graphs with bell curves to show me about inertia and physics and mass and density and stuff. 😄 We should do a study.
  10. The guy did come, we got a half hour late start, drove an hour and a half to the lake and promptly got stuck in the knee deep drifts. Had to shovel and put on the chains, got off the lake a half hour later and drove all the way back home. Next time any of you want to be involved in anything like that just let me know. I do them all the time.
  11. This was posted by Poopdeck back a little bit. I bet it will help.
  12. You don't have to call me Mr., Mr. Thanks Sandan. Nice flies everyone. Sorry Rick, to pick on you, but I wish I could see your flies. I bet I would like them a lot.
  13. Do you think the rebound from the rubber might help settle the hairs to the bottom? If it does, I might consider modifying mine.
  14. I'm waiting right now for a guy to meet here at the shop to go ice fishing. He's 20 minutes late. I might have to self quarantine in the fish house all by myself today.
  15. Nice looking fly D, very visible and I bet it floats like crazy. The grayling would eat that up.
  16. All the rest are great, just that one got a snag in the middle of it while I was winding it. Thought I got it out. I think when you put stuff on floss it dulls the sheen. Never tried the bee balm though.
  17. I tied 23 Royal Coachmen total for the classic dry fly swap. Here's the best twelve for the swap. This one may be my best, even though the floss is a little fuzzy. The fuzz is bugging me now. Ready for shipping on Monday.
  18. I tied 23 Royal Coachmen total for the classic dry fly swap. Here's the best twelve for the swap. This one may be my best, even though the floss is a little fuzzy. The fuzz is bugging me now. Ready for shipping on Monday. I'm sure everybody's tired of my Coachmen. I'm going back to Orvis index to do the steelhead flies next.
  19. I have 12 Royal Coachmen ready for the mail on Monday.
  20. May I please have your address, I have 12 flies ready to ship for the classic dry fly swap. Thanks Mark
