  1. MAN!!! That is my kind of fishing. Looks like an awesome day. Were the spiders you that you were using, floating spiders?
  2. We fishermen/women can be rude pricks sometimes too. I cant tell you how many times I have been out duck or goose hunting, only to have a High $$ Bass boat come flying into the cove we were set up in,Stop and proceed to fish through my decoy spread. I find it funny that they are surprised when we get a little irritated with them. I find it even funnier that a Bassastard will argue with a boat full of ARMED men about who is right and wrong.
  3. I JUST got back from NJ after being there for a week. I saw MORE rude, dangerous and thoughtless driving in that week in NJ than I saw in every state going up and coming back combined. I went to pick up a prescription for my MIL. I had my left turn signal on showing my intent to turn left into a parking space. I had a driver come from behind and pass me,ON THE LEFT, as I started turning into the parking place. It was a near miss, but WTH??
  4. You know? As long as your memories of them stay with you..They really aren't gone
  5. "I usually don't mind, but I will never forget the guy who parked his truck 15' directly behind me to watch". A Clouser with some nice large eyes makes quite the "clank" when it meets the sheet metal of a vehicle
  6. Net necessarily for tying, but I use the pill boxes that have 7 compartments if I want to carry flies without a bunch of weight
  7. It doesnt matter, because....."You're gonna need a bigger rod"
  8. Sounds like one of my fishing trip, except its both of my shoulders from paddling, blisters on my hands from paddling, sunburn, bug bites. etc.... Wouldn't trade it for anything
  9. Meh...no trailer hitch..No use for !
  10. May, you have been spanking those Walleye!!!!
  11. If Aliens aren't real....Explain Boy George. In all honesty, I believe, somewhere out there, there are other forms of intelligent life. If they've been here or will be here, we wont know until it happens or some other conclusive evidence comes to light. I think its kind of shortsighted for us to believe that we are the only "intelligent" life forms out there among the billions, if not trillions of stars and planets. You never know, The earth may be just a molecule that makes up a collective consciousness of some super being and we are all just part of a single thought.
  12. Thats something even my Epi Pen wouldn't help :0
  13. Man, that looks like a really great time was had!!
  14. I have several of the "reel on" cases and have had them well over 20 years. I've never has a tip break or any other issues. As someone above said, I am not brand loyal and will get the most cost effective one available.
  15. I love using this material. I have tied some interesting looking Mop Flies with tied in as a collar. It lays on the hook pretty well, but, I have found that if you wet it down a little, it lays even better.
  16. I use Furled leaders made out of either 10 or 14 lb mono. I twist these leaders to about 5-6 feet. I tie my leaders so there is a loop in each end for easy connecting. I dont use a tippet ring. On the tippet end of the leader, I use an 8-14 lb mono tippet about 3.5-4 feet long. If I am fishing subsurface flies, I switch to fluro in the same weights. Like someone said above, Bass and Bream aren't as spooky of leaders as trout can be.
  17. Looks like a great start to your trip!!
  18. ok. Today was break in day. The Bream were pretty active today. I caught maybe 40-50 +/-. The Bass were really hungry. On my second cast with the second 3 wt, I caught a 3-4 pound Bass. I didn't dare try to tip lift the fish, so, I drug it as far up on the bank as I could. The pond is about 3 feet low right now, so I hopped down to grab the fish for a photo. When I hit the ground, the fish flopped, broke the line and took my popper with it, back into the water. No popper,New tippet, no fish and NO photo. I did catch maybe 15-20 Bass this morning, nothing the size of the first one, but still fun on a 3 wt Thanks again Steve. We will be talking about that 8 wt soon!!
  19. Pick the background that most closely captures the true colors of the fly
  20. I've spoken with a guy involved with the NC chapter and will be sending 56 various flies in the next week or so.
