ALL VERSIONS Hook - Any straight, curved or jig wet fly hook, 8-14 (Mustad 3906, 10 used in all here) Thread - black or to match (black used here) Body - any color mop fly, brown, olive, tan and chartreuse are some examples (grey used here) Mop #1 - grey dub used to cover thread wraps behind brass bead Mop #2 - partridge soft hackle collar Mop #3 - brown rabbit collar tied using a dubbing loop Mop #4 - peacock ice dub collar, tied using a dubbing noodle Mop #5 - brown rabbit collar using the split thread method I'm teaching a guy in Anchorage, AK how to start tying and this pattern was chosen to develop different skills.
