LisaLou 0 Report post Posted January 2 (edited) Disco Unicorn, a Furled tail fly on heat shrink tube tube: 9/16 overall (brown 1mm heat shrink electrical tubing, heated and shrunk to aprox .75mm outer diameter, inner is smaller than most of my sewing needles. It’s kind of soft and flimsy is hard to shrink perfectly even. I was hoping it would get firmer as it shrunk, but did not. The ends did not roll over with heat, either, but is soft. I’m unsure how well it would hold up in real world use, if line would saw through it. But it is tiny! tan sewing thread Pale blue dubbing handmade from shredded yarn iridescent ribbon with one edge stripped to form a sort of hackle. The iridescent fibers are somewhat rigid like flash gold metallic braided thread, furled to form tail Loctite glue edited to add name. niveker 0 Report post Posted January 2 Excellent tying, DF, save some of those yellow nymphs for the next time you're out on the lower Swift, I do well there with a similar pattern.
LisaLou 0 Report post Posted January 3 Just a buggy fly q tip ear swab (swishers brand: pretty decent) 3/4” overall Tan sewing thread feather hackle faux fur strip, cut 2mm wide across the grain and stretched thin for body, I thought it looked really buggy and good. Like dubbing with a thread built in, easy to work with. Loctite

LisaLou 0 Report post Posted January 4 Red-legged Creeper grey sewing thread black heavy duty sewing thread red silicone skirting material for legs animal fiber tail SH hard as nails kantan bead embroidery tool to crochet the black overlay, with chain stitches on the bottom. Leg material was drawn through a chain stitch and secured with a larks head knot. No hackle to better see what it looks like for future experimentation. I consider it successful and will use the technique in the future.
