notenuftoys 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2018 I broke out the little bag of grouse feathers and decided to go buggy. A simple soft hackle with fox squirrel and grouse, but I used the split thread technique for the dubbing. Tied on the Firehole 633 hook, which is my favorite for wet flies. Grape 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2018 Bit the bullet and picked up a new Renzetti .... tied a few of these first Congrats on the Renzetti. I've been using one almost 10 years now and love it! Thanks! I started on a used knockoff Regal for a couple months and it broke so I figured why not get a good one
DarrellP 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2018 I posted these on another post, but thought that I would join this party. I don't know which I have more trouble with, trying to tie or trying to take and post pictures. Sometimes I feel like an old guy...These are fairly large, I can see them when I tie. Mike West 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2018 Mike, What material do you use for the head and how do you tie it? Thanks, Tom This stuff. Thought about just cutting my own but at $3.95What the heck I’ll try it. It’s square and you spin it like deer hair. I’d buy it again over trying to cut my own. Mike West 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2018 Im kicking around the idea right now of tying up a Bass Popper totally out of this stuff. I can tell you even with a brand new double edge razor blade it doesn't cut very well without a sawing action. Im gonna give it a shot today Ill post it later and well see how it comes out .
