This is a little fly I've been working on. It is mostly a decorative fly but I may fish it.

 

 

Recipe:

Thread: olive green

Hook: size 10 or 12 wet fly hook

Tail: peacock sword tips

Tinsel: copper

Back of body: Olive green dubbing

Wing: guinea fowl

Front of body: Light green dubbing

The streamers got me going

TMC 5212 size 6

Dark brown Uni 6/0

Eyes: Medium painted lead dumbell 

Tail and back:Olive/black micro pulsar strip

Body: fiery brown STS trilobal dubbing

Legs: black and gold rubber something or other, Wapsi Sili legs maybe

Gills: red ice dub

Head: olive laser dub and barf brown bruiser blend Jr. 

Picture order: wet, damp, dry

Got it. tie a few 26's then go back to the 22s. It'll make the 22s seem huge. 😉

Experimenting with metallic thread.  The one on the left is plain the one on the right has the body coated with UV resin.  Need to practice on getting the body thread smoother.  The thread is very course.

Hook: Mustad C49s #14

Body: Gold Metallic thread with or without resin coating

Thread: 6/0 black

Hackle: Partridge feather

Head: Black thread

Boa yarn flies. One with legs tied in first. Wrap tghe yarn on the hook so that you can palmer it up the hook.

2 new colors I was given.
