The hook is a short-shank, same length as a #16 but with a wider gap; may help in hooking. First, crayfish patterns The whole box and the first two I tied up back in April Hook: Eagle Claw Aberdeen Crappie hook, 3/0 Thread: color to match pattern or clear polyester Weight: medium dumbbell eyes tied on top of the shank behind the hook eye Body: Estaz and Schapplen or Webby Saddle hackle, to match color. Twisted together and wrapped on shank Claws: Zonker strips Eyes: Black Map pins Zonkers/Rabbit strip streamers(they have heads which may remove them from the Zonker class.) Hook: Various size 6 2xl streamer hooks(straight eye) Thread: various metallic threads, glow in the dark threads, and plain old tying threads Weight: strips of lead wire on the bottom of the hook shank Rib: Clear polyester thread Head: Hard plastic Fish Skulls and Living eyes(5 mm) Body: Various threads wrapped over the the lead wire Wing(?): Zonker strip And what's a warm water box without some mop flies. Actually streamers, they run from 3 inches to 7 inches in length. The two white streamers to the far left are old ones I added to the box, just in case. I like these and had thought of tying some up but I don't know if the fish will recognize them as food. I suspect they will even if they aren't aware of Crayfish.
