Li'lDave 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2016 Bad day yesterday.... first fishing trip canceled due to inattentiveness and collapsed bearings on the trailer... So, I relaxed today with just the one tie.... a #2 congo hair shrimp....
fishinguy 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2016 congo hair bluegill, 3rd attempt: First try at a deceiver type fly. 4 hackle tail, pearl crystal flash, twisted crystal flash body, craft fur and arctic fox collars. Generic articulated nymph. Too much thorax i think. Ultra simple craw bugger thing. Hope this works. Wont mind losing a dozen of these. Marabou tail, lead eyes, FTD's sea dragon dubbing(sand dragon) in a loop. Apologies for the poorly edited post and meh cel phone pics. Give a new guy a break, eh? johnnyquahog 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2016 a couple of random bugs. I unknowingly superglued (zap-a-gap thin formula) the adjustment screw on my vise yesterday. After soaking in acetone for an hour and running to the store to get a 7/64 hex wrench and spraying with wd40 I am back in business. 2+ hours I'll never get back. johnnyquahog 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2016 Johnny.... nice hair job. Are your legs made from rubber bands? Looks like it to me. FF Thanks! The package is labeled "predator legs". I need a couple more colors of the same or similar looking material. The rubber elastic looking stuff dries out and crumbles.
josephcsylvia 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2016 So was fishing the other day and i went trough about 20 flies before I tied on and elk hair caddis to see if the bass wanted to eat something, well they tore it up! but they only wanted it moving sub surface which an ehc isnt designed to do. Long story short a tree finally ate my fly and I stopped catching fish. So I want to design something that looked like a ehc but fished like a streamer. Heres what I came up with coyote mask tail hairs mask dubbing stiff hackle and copper ribbing elk hair wing spun elk hair head. I like it, will refine it some, any comments?
