Saw one version with a teal flank wing which looked a bit weird; the grizzly hackle up front creates a similar effect.

hook - Dai Riki 135 #12

thread - Danville 6/0 black

tag - Danville Depth Ray fire orange

rib - small wire silver

abdomen - medium tinsel opal

body hackle - hen black

thorax - dubbing red

front hackle - hen grizzly

cheeks - biots dyed hot orange (tips trimmed)

Regards,

Scott

Rene Harrop's last chance cripple(16) and his transitional midge(24). Matt's midge(24). The hackle tip from Matt's is the tail on the transitional, waste not want not. And a little baetis nymph(24) too. Some great stuff so far this month. Thanks all.

How long is it taking you to knock these out now? You're getting consistently brilliant on them.

If I have everything in front of me: about 1 hour for these smaller ones, I don't rush it. Doing many in one sitting helps :)

A bit intimidating, guys.

Best thing I ever did was start posting pics on here. Raised my average a lot. The photos is a skill all of its own but even for your own use it highlights tiny "flaws" that probably make no difference to the fish but help when youre trying to be a better tyer.

Also, jump on some swaps. A great way to be more consistent tying 10 of a pattern.
